CURRENT NEWSLETTER: August 29, 2010 Dear
Resurrection Family, Over the summer we have been planning for our Fall
Ministry Season which begins September 12th. While many of you are eagerly awaiting the start of the Raven's season (and for
good reason as many pundits are picking them as Super Bowl favorites), the Staff, Vestry, and I are just as excited for all
that God has in store for Resurrection in the months ahead. Here is a tast of what is coming up: All Parish Lunch after Church on September 12th
Please bring friends to church and join us afterwards
for a wonderful family gathering as we grill out, have special activities for children, and spend time together after the
long summer. See details below.
Student Ministry (6th - 12th grade)
All Middle and High
School students are invited to a Kickoff Cookout on Sunday October 3rd from 4:30 - 6:00pm. Confirmation Class and Sunday Evening
Fellowship "Collide" will begin October 10 through November 7th, also from 4:30 - 6:00 pm, for ALL
STUDENTS IN GRADES 6-12. Confirmation Sunday will be November 14th.
Resurrection
101
Once again we will offer
this three session class after Church on October 3rd, 10th, and 17th for all members and those interested in learning more
about Resurrection. Lunch will be provided.
Making a Great Marriage - Tuesday evenings beginning October 12th
This five week course is
a great way to learn more about how to build a great marriage. The class will run from 6:30 - 8:00pm at the church with dinner
and childcare for ages 2 - 12.
Cost is $30 per couple
or $15.00 for an individual.
Men's Breakfast and Bible Study
Under the leadership of Ed Morse, Griff Atkinson and David Drake, Resurrection
will launch a monthly Men's breakfast and a weekly Men's Bible study (we will begin with Ephesians) at the church Thursday
mornings from 6:45 - 7:45am beginning Thursday September 23rd.
Children's Ministry on Sunday Mornings
Beginning September 12, children
ages 0 - 5 will stay in the classrooms for the whole service with parental option to get them for Communion. Children in Kindergarten
- 5th grade will start in the service and after a brief children's homily will leave for Children's Worship. They will return
to the service for Communion during the offertory.
So there is a brief overview of just some of the opportunities for us as a church this
